I have taught two weeks of Kindergarten, I am pretty sure I can now do anything! : )
This week we really focused on COLORS. I loved the Roy G. Biv ideas I have been seeing all over Pinterest, but I became really frustrated because I couldn't find a template to go with it. So, I made one! You can download it FREE here. Let me know if you use it : )
They turned out cute and really brightened up the hallway! On Wednesday we did the Rainbow Milk science experiment. I am really trying to incorporate weekly hands on science into my lessons. I used the resources from Deanna Jump's Colorful Cats Unit. I loved all of the activities in this unit and it all went perfectly with "Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes." Which by the way my kids are obsessed with Pete the Cat!
Before.
After.
"Ohhhhhh Ahhhhhhhh"
I have also decided to take the plunge and created a grant with Donor's Choose. What a neat organization! I am dying to have two iPod touches to use in my classroom. My babies LOVE to use the computer! We often have tears when this center fills up. I really want some more technology to use in my classroom. I really hope that I will be able to raise the needed funds for these iPod touches. There are so many wonderful educational applications out now that my students would be able to learn from. If you are interested in donating to my project or would like to find out more information click HERE. If you donate before September 12th and enter the code INSPIRE your donation will be matched dollar for dollar!!! I am grateful for any donation.
This week I will begin meeting with my guided reading groups and we will start our full schedule. I am excited to be in our "real" routine. I am also ready for some cooler fall weather. This 100 degree heat at recess isn't much fun.
Have a wonderful week!
