I know, I know. It's only September, but the holidays will be here before we know it! I think everyone has great intentions of doing all the fun holiday ideas from Pinterest, but then life happens. This year one of my goals is to post holiday ideas super early so that you have plenty of time to prepare! This year is my first Christmas as a mom and I can't wait to DO ALL THE THINGS. I am so excited to start some new traditions with my sweet girl! The first one on the list is a Christmas Book Countdown.

This tradition actually started a few years ago in my classroom. I had so many holiday books that I decided to wrap them up and each day a different student would open one for us to read. The class loved it so much that I have continued to do it since! There is just something fun about opening a surprise book!
Here are some of the books we will be unwrapping at our house this season:

Oh and if you only buy one new book, let it be this one! We can't get enough of these books! They are SO sturdy and perfect for tiny hands.
Also, please don't feel like you have to spend a lot of money or order 24 brand new books! That's why I am sharing this idea early, so you have plenty of time to keep your eyes peeled. Here are a few ideas for finding Christmas books without spending a lot of $$$:
- Facebook Marketplace
- Scholastic
- Friends of the Library Book Sales
- Garage Sales
- Friends with older kids
- Half Price Books
