The Wedding of Q and U
Maybe I just love weddings? Or maybe I just love fun phonics activities, but I just love putting a wedding together for Q and U. This was such a fun and memorable day for my kids last year. I can't wait to do it bigger and better this year. Click HERE to read my blog post regarding the big event.
Thanks Blog Hoppin for hosting this fun linky!
Also, here are some other pictures of what we have been up to:
Today we did leaf writing. We went outside and everyone found a leaf or two. Then, we came inside and everyone had to use their imagination to turn their leaf into something. I had some really cute ones.
If you are wondering about my circus clips come back next week for a little post on my Meet the Authors display.
Last week we read the Laura Numeroff books. I really love these books, but there isn't a whole lot of meat to them. So, we used them to talk about characters and make text to text connections with the books. We made this simple little chart to go in the hall.
We really talked about circular text and how Laura Numeroff repeated her characters in many of the stories. We nearly lost it when we figured out that If You Give a Pig a Party had all of the animals in it. Holy Moly!
Today was my first day at school this week. I spent Monday and Tuesday asleep in bed : ( So we (I) spent most of the day playing catch up and getting everything re situated. It's amazing how many things pile up in two day! Plus Monday kicked off a new six weeks grading period so I had to change out reading logs, behavior logs AND get report cards out. AH! At least it's already hump day : )
