The Wedding of Q and U

  1. Friday was a very exciting day in our classroom. We had the big wedding of Q and U! I have seen this idea before and I knew I just had to do it. My kids have been especially into weddings since I am getting married, so they LOVED this! I think this will be one of those days in kindergarten that they will always remember. We read a precious little book created by Kathleen at Growing Kinders. It was so cute and got my kids really excited about the upcoming event. It is available in her unit: The Wedding of Q and U.

  1. Here are some pictures from the big event:

The bride and groom. I bought giant wooden letters at Hobby Lobby and dressed them up!

I made the wedding cake by stacking Little Debbie white fancy cakes. I was trying to cut out a fancy Q and U with my Cricut, but they look skinny and weird in this picture. But, it worked great! : )

I took each child's picture with the happy couple. I will put this in their little kindergarten memory book for the end of the year.

The wedding was also complete with a reception. We did some traditional wedding dances like the Cupid Shuffle and the Chicken Dance haha. I can't wait to do the wedding bigger and better next year!

Have a great week! : )
